Do you want to explore the advanced capabilities of MariaDB MaxScale 25.01 without a subscription? We’re thrilled to introduce MaxScale Trial: a free, time-limited version that unlocks hands-on access to the full feature set of our powerful database proxy. This is your opportunity to experience cutting-edge functionalities like advanced query routing, seamless load balancing, flexible filtering, and our newest additions – diff router, and workload capture and replay.
Why MaxScale Trial?
With the recent release of MaxScale 25.01 under a new license, our commitment to community access and evaluation remains strong. MaxScale Trial provides a free, capacity-limited version of our robust database proxy, specifically tailored for developers, testers, and DBAs looking to:
- Developers: Test application compatibility, experiment with sophisticated routing logic, and understand how MaxScale can optimize database interactions in a development or staging environment.
- DBAs: Evaluate advanced features like query routing, load balancing, and security filters (e.g., data masking, query firewalling) in a non-production setting. Explore the new workload capture and replay feature for performance tuning and migration planning.
MaxScale Trial is intended for non-production environments. For production deployments requiring serious scalability, high availability (HA), automated failover, enterprise-grade performance, and professional support, a MariaDB subscription offers access to the unlimited version of MaxScale, delivering the ultimate database management experience. MaxScale Trial serves as the perfect proving ground before committing to an enterprise solution.
What You Get with MaxScale Trial: Full Functionality for In-Depth Evaluation
Experience the core power that enterprise users rely on. MaxScale Trial includes:
- Latest Version: MaxScale Trial versions mirror the versioning of MaxScale (e.g., 25.01), ensuring compatibility and alignment with the broader MariaDB ecosystem.
- Complete Feature Set: Access all filters, routing algorithms (e.g., readwritesplit, readconnroute), and service capabilities. No features are held back.
- Usage Limits Designed for Evaluation:
- 2 Services
- Maximum of 2 filters per service
- Up to 2 backend servers
- Up to 15 concurrent connections
- Data capture (for workload replay) limited by size (10 MBs) or duration (5 minutes)
- Restarts every 24 hours
- Fully functional for 14 days from installation
Understanding the MaxScale Trial Limits: Focused Evaluation
Our approach to MaxScale Trial is designed to balance comprehensive feature access with practical evaluation scope. Instead of restricting features (which would hinder your ability to explore MaxScale’s true potential), we’ve implemented capacity, time, and operational limitations. This allows you to rigorously test all functionalities in a controlled, non-production environment, providing a clear understanding of MaxScale’s power before considering an enterprise deployment. These limits ensure a focused evaluation while keeping the path to full-scale performance seamless. Check out the MaxScale Trial documentation here.
